AFC Leopards failed to pick up three points yet again in the Kenyan Premier League following a 1-1 draw with Shabana at the Machakos Stadium.

The frustrating draw sees Leopards rise to 36 points, 9 behind league leaders Kenya Police even though they do have a game in hand having played 23 matches.

On a hot Sunday afternoon, Machakos town was taken over by the well travelled Ingwe and Shabana fans who sang their hearts out in the hope of driving their respective team's to victory.

It was the away side from Kisii who drew first blood on 19 minutes through Kelvin Nyabuto.

Leopards, who were holding onto faint hopes of reviving their Premier League title challenge scored their equalizer just before halftime thanks to Ovella Ochieng on 44 minutes to earn Ingwe a point.

Meanwhile, in Awendo, Mara Sugar FC were held to a 0-0 draw by Bidco United in a tight match played at the Awendo Green Stadium in South Nyanza.

The home team, buoyed by a vociferous support tried hard to break down a solid Bidco outfit but were forced to settle for a draw.

Attention now shifts to the World Cup qualification as club football takes a two-week break.
